In the vibrant heart of Mumbai's Matunga neighbourhood, Bomdia Café has emerged as a unique culinary destination. The dual-storeyed establishment, spanning 2,000 square feet, was meticulously designed by Studio RCI to harmoniously co-exist two distinct food and beverage experiences.
Upon entering Bomdia Café, the eye is immediately drawn to the coffee kiosk on the ground floor, a significant design element that serves as the heart of the cafe. Designed to make a strong functional and visual impression, it is the first thing customers see and sets the tone for the overall relaxed elegance inspired by modern French cafés.
The upper floor, on the other hand, offers a different dining experience with its own unique design traits. Each level of the cafe has its own culinary concept, creating an atmosphere that caters to diverse tastes. This thoughtful design allows both experiences to operate seamlessly under the same roof without visual or functional conflict.
The design team behind this project includes Ruchika Chabbria, Principal designer of Studio RCI, along with Sanika Gangan and Tejal Ubhare who led the project at Bomdia Café. Their efforts have resulted in a space that accommodates harmonious co-existence of distinct identities, illustrating that distinct design languages can co-exist harmoniously when thoughtfully planned and executed.
