A Musical Stroll in Bürgerpark with the Bremen Philharmonic on August 18th
On August 18, 2024, the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra will celebrate its "Musical Stroll" event in the beautiful Bürgerpark. This unique occasion invites visitors to embark on a musical journey, exploring various idyllic spots throughout the park.
The day will feature an array of chamber ensembles and soloists, each performing at specific locations. For instance, at the Emmasee Meadow, Marten Böötjer, Anatoli Jagodin, Michael Feuchtmayr, and Wolfram Blum will captivate audiences with their Trombone Quartet. Meanwhile, at the Marcus Fountain, Hannah Weber, Caroline Villwock, and Karola von Boerries will enchant with their Cello Trio.
Instruments for visitors to try out will be available courtesy of the Music Workshop, located at the Playground. The Swiss House will host the Pacific Quintett, a bläserquintett with Liana Leßmann and guests.
The Arbor Walk will resonate with the harmonious melodies of Jihye Seo-Georg, Bettina Blum, and Kathrin Wieck's Trio di violini. At the Niemitz Fountain, Ines Köhler, Peter Schmidt, and Hiroyuka Yamazaki will perform a Trio Horn and Contrabass. Dirk Ehlers, Naomi Kuchimura, Johannes Wagner, and Berker Sen will captivate audiences with their Bassoon Quartet at the Dyckhoff Pavilion.
Amandine Carbuccia will mesmerise with her solo performance on the harp at the Gerdes Pavilion, while Friedrich Müller and Dirk Alexander will enchant with their alphorn solo at the Animal Meadow. Oleh Dulyba, Florian Baumann, Steffen Drabek, and Maren Seeliger will perform Quartetto con brio at the Hermann Löns Stone.
Reinhold Heise, Ines Huke-Siegler, Annette Stoodt, and Ulf Schade will perform as the Fidis Quartett at the Schüttedenkmal. The day will culminate with an interactive family concert and a visitor stand at Swan Lake around 5 pm.
Throughout the event, musicians will perform continuously from 3 to 5 pm, with short breaks between sets. Visitors are welcome to compose their own route through the park, making this a personalised musical adventure.
The Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra supports the preservation of the Bürgerpark through benefit concerts, including the "Musical Stroll". Donation boxes will be set up at the performance locations during the event, with all proceeds directly benefiting the park.
This event marks the commencement of the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra's 200th concert season, making it a significant milestone in the orchestra's history.
