A collective support from all district mayors, including the district administrator of Friesland, has also been expressed.
Wilhelmshaven has laid claim to a small plot of land in the Great Harbor, with the city building director Nikša Marušić believing it caters to all the necessary location prerequisites. Bremerhaven, where the lighthouse was built, is not backing down either, proposing a new site in the Lunesiel on the Weser.

The choice of Roter Sand's new home involves a series of considerations, ranging from the structure's water atmosphere to land-near installation in the sea, accessibility, parking spaces, information options, and preservation of the lighthouse’s distinctive red and white color.
