Agricultural firm Pasona set to unveil an agritourism resort on Awaji Island.
Beginning August 1, 2025, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a unique rural experience at Hatake no Resort Sansan Villa, an innovative accommodation facility located on Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture [1][2]. This facility, operated by Pasona Group, offers a blend of agritourism and modern comfort, providing guests with a novel way to engage with rural life and agricultural heritage.
The resort consists of 11 separate villas, each equipped with its own private field for seasonal farming activities such as sowing and harvesting vegetables [1][2]. This direct, hands-on approach to agriculture allows guests to connect with the land and enjoy the fruits of their labour while staying comfortably on site.
The buildings at Hatake no Resort Sansansan Villa were designed by a team of nine architects, including Sosuke Fujimoto, who is renowned for his work on the Grand Ring, a major wooden structure associated with the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka [1][2]. The architects have utilised natural materials in their designs, ensuring that the villas harmonise with their surroundings and offer a tranquil, rustic aesthetic.
Accommodation fees start at 121,000 yen per night [1][2]. As part of its commitment to this initiative, Pasona Group has relocated some of its headquarters functions to Awaji Island and is developing complementary leisure and restaurant facilities in the area. The company aims to attract approximately 15,000 visitors by the end of fiscal 2028 [1][2].
In addition to the standard overnight stays, Pasona Group is considering offering longer stays, potentially up to a month, to deepen the agricultural experience for those who wish to delve further into rural life [1][2]. The overarching philosophy of Hatake no Resort Sansan Villa is to let guests experience farming activities like harvesting fresh vegetables while enjoying comfortable lodging and resort facilities.
The opening ceremony for Hatake no Resort Sansan Villa took place on July 17 [3]. With its debut on August 1, this facility is set to become a must-visit destination for those seeking a unique blend of rural charm and modern comfort.
Visitors can delve deeper into the lifestyle of rural farming at Hatake no Resort Sansan Villa, as longer stays up to a month are being considered for August 1, 2025 and beyond. Furthermore, the home-and-garden experience at this facility is augmented by the guests' ability to take part in gardening activities such as seasonal farming in their private fields.
