Announcement for the Diakonie of Bethany's grand summer festival, set for the 30th of August
On August 30th, the picturesque Bethanien Park in Solingen will play host to the annual Summer Festival organised by Solingen-Bethanien Diakonie. The event, running from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, promises a day filled with entertainment, activities, and valuable information for all ages.
The stage program will kick off at midday with a warm welcome from Matthias Ruf, chairman of the management of Diakonie Bethanien. Throughout the day, various musical acts will take centre stage, including the Brass Band Rigo Kirschner, the Solingen Shantychor, the Diakonie Bethanien employee choir, and the choir of the Free Evangelical Church Solingen-Merscheid.
Visitors can also expect interactive and educational experiences. The Palliative Hospice Solingen (PHoS e.V.) and the Palliative Care Team Solingen will present an information stand at the festival, providing insights into their vital work. The Bergische Lebensretter will offer practical sessions on "First Aid" and "Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation".
For those interested in exploring the Bethanien grounds, bike rickshaws will be available. The festival will also feature a kids' rally, mega Jenga, face painting, and a clown to entertain the little ones.
Culinary delights will be on offer throughout the day, and the Bethanien Diakonie's lung clinic will offer a bronchoscopy simulator and guided tours to the hospital rooftop.
The Free Evangelical Church Aufderhöhe will open the FeG-Kinderkiste (second-hand store for children's clothing and toys) in the community house, while the Bethanien Senior Center Solingen will provide a colorful kids' program and open its doors to interested visitors.
The highlight of the day will be an open-air church service at 5:00 PM, led by Pastor Friederike Meißner, in front of the ParkCafé.
