Unleash Your Inner Bookworm at Neuwied's Giant Literary Fiesta!

Get ready to dive into an ocean of books and literary delights as the heart of Neuwied, Germany, metamorphoses into an extensive open-air library from June 5th to 8th! The highly anticipated StadtLesen event is making its debut in Deichstadt this year, offering a whopping 3000 books from over 125 publishing partners. Enjoy the comfy seating areas and partake in a diverse lineup of readings catering to book enthusiasts of all ages.

Prepare to mark your calendars for the official launch of StadtLesen on our bustling Market Square on June 5th, commencing at 6 pm sharp. The event will be graced by the presence of Mayor Jan Einig and Christina Schmitt, President of the Lions Club Neuwied-Andernach. Following the grand unveiling, local author Jasna Mittler will captivate us with a riveting reading from her novel "Blau Auge."

  • At 6:00 PM, a formal opening ceremony by Mayor Jan Einig, followed by Jasna Mittler's reading from her epic "Blau Auge."

  • Throughout the day, the city library will present Kamishibei storytelling performances for children.
