Annual Race in Münster, Germany, Draws Controversy Due to Misinterpretation

Updated: Uncertainty Surrounds Tim Bendzko's Participation in Volksbank-Münster-Marathon Celebrity Relay

Initially, renowned singer Tim Bendzko was expected to take part in the celebrity relay at the upcoming 2025 Volksbank-Münster-Marathon. However, conflicting information has surfaced, casting doubt on his involvement in the event.

According to updated reports, Tim Bendzko's participation is currently uncertain due to scheduling conflicts. His agency announced that there had been misunderstandings in the coordination regarding his participation. Bendzko himself confirmed that he was not part of the celebrity relay.

Stephanie Müller-Spirra, known for moderating the José Carreras Gala and various winter sports broadcasts, is also currently checking her commitments for the event. The marathon organizer, Michael Brinkmann, expressed surprise at the situation, stating he had received an explicit release for Bendzko's participation.

Originally, it was announced that every relay team finishing ahead of the celebrity quartet would trigger a donation to the José Carreras Leukemia Foundation. The team, aside from Bendzko, includes highly accomplished individuals such as Felix Brych, a prominent German football referee, and media professionals Stephanie Müller-Spirra and Maja Weber.

The organizers hope for many mixed relay teams to take on the sporting challenge and automatically generate donations for a good cause through their performance. Interested sponsors can contact the organizers directly for the "Beat the Celebrities" initiative.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Tim Bendzko's participation, the Volksbank-Münster-Marathon is anticipated to offer a unique and exciting highlight under the motto "Beat the Celebrities".
