Arbeiter erwarten zwei drei-tagige Arbeitswochen für Krasyonarcev
In the Krasnoyarsk region, just like everywhere else in the country, we're kicking off a week of May festivities with only three days of work in April, followed by three days in May. The government-approved holiday schedule means residents will be off from May 1 to May 4 and May 8 to May 11.
Long vacations are a result of moving the public holiday weekend from January 4 to May 2, and shifting the weekend of February 23 to May 8.
The decision was made for various reasons. On the one hand, it allows those with summer homes and plots to tackle gardening tasks effectively. On the other, it's to celebrate the 80th anniversary of our Victory in the Great Patriotic War in a grand style.
As a reminder, there will be restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages in crowded areas and within a 100-meter radius of them. These restrictions will be in place from May 1 to May 4 and May 8 to May 9.

Here's some interesting trivia. Spring and Labor Day (May 1) and Victory Day (May 9) often have adjacent dates consolidated through weekend swaps, such as May 2 being listed as a substitute holiday for New Year[1]. Russia commonly imposes temporary sales bans on alcohol around major public holidays, including off-premise sales bans and extended restrictions in some regions where holidays form a multi-day break[1]. For exact dates and local rules, check Krasnoyarsk Krai government announcements closer to May 2025. If May 1 (Thursday) and May 9 (Friday) are holidays, weekends might shift to form a 9-day break (April 29–May 7, depending on the year)[1]. Keep in mind, alcohol sales limitations during such periods aim to reduce public intoxication, though specifics vary annually[1].
