Belgian Photographer Captures Pristine Nature in 'Forgotten Places' Series
Belgian photographer Frédérique Demeuse has dedicated his work to capturing the raw beauty of untouched nature. His series 'Forgotten Places' takes viewers on a journey to remote forests and wild areas around the globe, preserving these landscapes in their pristine state.
Demeuse's passion for nature photography began in the Sonian Forest, near his hometown of Brussels. With a background in ethology and ornithology, he brings a unique perspective to his work, capturing the essence of these environments and the wildlife that inhabit them.
His series 'Forgotten Places' features dreamlike images of isolated and uncommon areas of nature, from abandoned locations in North America and Asia to the remote forests of Europe. Demeuse believes that humanity's relationship with nature has declined by 60 percent over the last 200 years, making his work all the more crucial.
Through his photography, Demeuse aims to evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world. He hopes that by documenting these 'forgotten places', he can raise awareness about their importance for both wildlife and humans, encouraging us to protect and preserve these spaces for future generations.
