Braunschweig Youth Book Week 2025: 18 Authors, 200 Events for 10,000 Students

Established in 1985 by the local book trade and library, the Braunschweig Youth Book Week e.V. is set to bring together young readers and prominent authors and illustrators in its upcoming edition. The week-long event aims to foster active reading and reduce barriers to literature.

The Youth Book Week e.V. has been a staple in the region for over three decades. It was founded with the mission to promote reading among young people and create meaningful connections between them and the creators of children's and youth literature. In 2025, the event is set to host an impressive lineup of 18 authors and illustrators, including Martina Baumbach, Rüdiger Bertram, and Inge Bosse, among others.

The week is filled with around 200 events, with each year featuring approximately 17 authors. These events take place in schools and cultural institutions across the city, reaching around 10,000 students. The Youth Book Week e.V. strives to make these encounters accessible and engaging, seeking to inspire a lifelong love for reading.
