Celebrate International Coffee Day & Elderly Appreciation Today
Today, October 1st, marks a double celebration. First, it's International Coffee Day, a time to indulge in our favourite brews and experiment with new coffee recipes. Secondly, it's the Day of the Elderly, an occasion to honour and show appreciation to our seniors.
The history of International Coffee Day traces back to the start of the coffee harvest in many coffee-producing countries. Meanwhile, the Day of the Elderly serves as a reminder to surround our elderly loved ones with attention and care.
On this day, we also commemorate the birthday of the postcard. The first postcard was printed in Vienna on October 1, 1869, by Dr. Emanuel Herrmann. While specifics about the event are scarce, this day honours the invention that revolutionized communication.
So, today, let's raise a cup of coffee in celebration of International Coffee Day and take a moment to reach out to our elderly, showing them the respect and love they deserve.
