Cerritos Senior Center's Early Mother's Day Celebration, Featuring Elvis Tribute and Gift Sales, Experiences Overwhelming Demand

In the heart of Cerritos, known for its beautiful parks, state-of-the-art Library, popular Cerritos Senior Center at Pat Nixon Park, and the renowned Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, a special event took place recently, leaving attendees in awe.

The event, organised by the Woman's Club of Artesia-Cerritos, was a magical day for all who attended. With a $15 entrance fee, each attendee was treated to a catered luncheon that included croissant turkey sandwiches, fresh fruit, potato salad, brownie desserts, and an assortment of hot and cold beverages.

The tables at the event were tastefully decorated with mini gifts for everyone, adding a touch of elegance to the occasion. The highlight of the day, however, was the performance by Elvis, who brought along a saxophonist to accompany him. Many guests rocked and rolled along to favourites from their teenage years, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere.

The event connected to the Woman's Club of Artesia-Cerritos as it discussed pieces of community history. Betty McDougall, who spoke at the discussion, shared insights about a specific event. The past presidents of the Woman's Club also attended and spoke at the event.

The Friendship and Early Mothers' Day event at the Cerritos Senior Center sold out quickly this year, a testament to the popularity of the event and the appeal of the club's activities. The Senior Center Staff received kudos for planning such a memorable event.

It was also a day of giving, with numerous guests bringing contributions for the Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos. The event was not just a celebration, but a demonstration of the community's compassion and care for those in need.

While information regarding a local Red Hat group specifically hosting events at the Cerritos Senior Center is not readily available, it is possible that such a group may meet at senior centers. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, contacting the Cerritos Senior Center directly or checking their official website would be recommended.

As for upcoming events, Friends of the 1st CEB have an event scheduled for June 20 at Liberty Park, and the Cerritos Chinese-American Senior Citizens Association has events scheduled for August 2 and 16 at the Cerritos Senior Center at Pat Nixon Park. Additionally, a Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for August 3 at City Hall Council Chambers.

The Cerritos Senior Center continues to be a hub of activity and community engagement, offering a wide range of events and opportunities for seniors to connect, learn, and enjoy.
