Above the Halle 103rd Handel Festival, a feather of sail lifts on the Handel Oasis, nestled right by the Red Tower. This sprawling, sandy hangout bears the "In Love with Halle" sail and offers comfy loungers and bench seats under palm trees, testifying a golden tribute to the iconic Handel statue.
Seamlessly weaving sustainability into its charm, the Handel Oasis persists in making the sand pit a summer haven for anyone who sets foot in Halle's bustling market square. Last May, it successfully hosted the 50th anniversary of Halle's Throwing Days, with an arena specially erected for top-notch shot put competitions, opening up the thrilling world of international athletics to a broader audience. Once the games wrapped up, a tad less spacious arena was carved and replenished with stunning 234 tons of sand to serve the city dwellers a petit, urban retreat.
Across previous years, Halle has been making its market square a hub of summer vibes by setting up captivating installations. We've seen temporary landscapes mirroring the Baltic Sea with "Halle by the Sea," complete with enticing sand sculptures, and two charming sailboats boasting seating and play areas.
