In a World Dazzled, Event Horizon Telescope's Collaborative Effort Reveals Black Hole
The year was 2019 and the world held its breath as the first-ever photograph of a black hole was released. This remarkable feat was made possible by the collaborative spirit, as an international team of scientists from eight different telescopes across the globe united into one formidable force: the Event Horizon Telescope, a virtual telescope as large as our home planet.
Collaboration is the fuel that propels us forward, the driving force behind some of the most groundbreaking discoveries. Our recent exploration of the "Collaboration" theme for our UX/UI team's website ThemeMonthTM initiative couldn't be a more perfect example. With collaboration being the foundation of our everyday operations, we were excited to share this core belief with fellow designers and web enthusiasts.
The Recipe of a Fantastic Collaboration
As a close-knit and highly communicative team, we immerse ourselves in brainstorming sessions to unlock our collective creative potential. In this case, we wanted to create a visual representation of our collaboration process, beginning with a concept inspired by the theme.
Driven by a diverse set of influences and strengths, we transitioned into the ideation phase, opting to work individually at first so each of us could present our unique interpretation of the theme. Our backgrounds span a range of design-related disciplines, including graphic design, industrial design, typography, print, and editing. By combining our varied perspectives, we arrived at a common understanding based on mutual feedback.
Collaboration: The Birthplace of Ideas
Brainstorming is where the magic happens, ideas spill out like countless shooting stars, each one sparkling with potential. Following the ideation phase, we began to breathe life into our concepts by creating quick sketches, delighting in the endless possibilities that lay ahead.
The team's collective creativity pushed us to investigate a truly immersive and interactive experience for our poster design. As we strive to create user-friendly, visually appealing digital experiences, we envisioned a poster that would come alive, transcending traditional print media and blurring the line between physical and digital realms.
