Competition at Moers's public swimming pool set for August 16th
The 16th edition of the Bath Tub Race is set to take place at the scenic Bettenkamper Meer natural swimming pool on August 16th. This local event, known for its good vibes and lovingly designed costumes, is a much-anticipated annual occurrence in the town of Moers.
Organised by the Bettenkamper Meer Friendship Circle e.V., the Moers branch of the DLRG, and ENNI Sports & Baths Niederrhein (Enni), the Bath Tub Race has gained a reputation that extends beyond Moers. Benjamin Beckerle, area manager of pool operator Enni, stated that the event is well-known and attracts a diverse crowd.
Competing teams in this year's race include "The Fiberglass Snails", "The Mean Mussels", "The Wet Vikings", and "The Badiators". Each creative paddler in the race is required to be able to swim, ensuring a thrilling and safe event for all.
After the race, participants and spectators can look forward to an After Race Party, with DJ Altan providing the musical atmosphere. Tobias Berndt, chairman of the Bettenkamper Meer Friendship Circle, promised that the party will end a fantastic summer evening with hopefully perfect weather.
The Bath Tub Race serves as a means of advertising for the unique and historic Bettenkamper Meer natural swimming pool. Co-organizer Jan Priefert of the DLRG stated that the event brings people together, regardless of age or size.
