In a surprising turn of events, the graduating class of the Eugen-Bolz-Gymnasium in Rottenburg found themselves in a predicament when they spray-painted the school on July 10. Principal Andreas Greis, however, believes it was an honest mistake.

Student Lina Heege, taking the initiative, started a fundraiser on GoFundMe for the cleaning job. The fundraiser, which initially aimed to raise 9,000 euros, had garnered 4,785 euros by Monday. However, the fundraiser has since been taken down, as the cleaning job has been ongoing from Monday until Wednesday.

The city, which owns the school, has been cooperative, donating five buckets of paint for the cleaning job. The students, with the help of a professional painter and his apprentice, started cleaning the school on Monday. The painter, showing understanding, only charged for his time, not travel or assessment.

The cleaning job, though, presented a challenge. The spray paint used by the students was assumed to be washable, but it dried and wouldn't come off, causing a problem. Despite the obstacle, the class has been working hard to make things right.

The initial estimated cost of the cleaning job was 9,000 euros, but it has now been reduced to 7,000 euros. The rest of the cost will be covered by the class fund and donations from the prom.

Heege believes the class's bond has grown stronger through the cleaning effort. Principal Greis hopes future classes won't repeat the stunt. The school leadership and janitor, who were initially shocked, have since reached a good understanding.

It's worth noting that the cost of graffiti removal can vary widely depending on factors such as the size and complexity of the graffiti, the surface type, accessibility, specialized labor and equipment needs, and geographic location. Commercial building graffiti removal services can range from approximately $300 to over $1,000 per job. For a school building, an average cost in the mid-hundreds to low thousands of dollars can be estimated if professional graffiti removal services are hired.

The students of Eugen-Bolz-Gymnasium in Rottenburg are learning a valuable lesson about responsibility and the impact of their actions. Their determination to rectify the situation is commendable, and the community's support is a testament to the power of unity in overcoming challenges.

The students, in an effort to improve their lifestyle and home-improvement, have been raising funds for the cleaning job of the graffiti on their school, which falls under the home-and-garden category. Despite initial estimates, the cleaning job's cost has been reduced due to the collaborative efforts of the students and professional help, making it more affordable for the class fund and donations from the prom.
