DIY Christmas Candles

Equipment

  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Silicone finger covers or tool

Materials

  • 2 Prayer candles
  • Mesh ribbon
  • Sequin trim
  • 2 Ribbon ornaments

Instructions

  1. Wrap the mesh around the votive candle, and trim to fit with a slight overlap.
  2. Apply a thin line of hot glue on your candle and press the mesh ribbon into it, taking care not to burn yourself. Use silicone finger covers to prevent burns when handling hot glue. Overlap and glue down to cover the candle.
  3. Place dabs of hot glue along the seam formed by the mesh ribbon, and position the end of your sequin trim there. Follow with additional dabs of hot glue and the sequin trim and continue wrapping the candle, repeating the process at the bottom.
  4. Glue down a ribbon ornament or embellishment in place using hot glue to finish off the candle.
