Engaging in a Reading Session with Chantal Flower Sandjon
On the 25th of September, Landshut City Library will host a special event as part of the Intercultural Weeks. The guest of honour will be Chantal-Fleur Sandjon, a multi-award-winning author and spoken-word performer, who will present her current book, "City of Trees".
"City of Trees" is a poetic, accessible, and authentic novel that resonates particularly with young people, but also offers new perspectives for adults. The story follows a young protagonist seeking her place in the world, navigating friendships, identity, and the courage to take new paths.
The event will take place at the City Library Weilerstraße, starting at 5 PM. Registration for the event is desired through the website eventbrite.com.
Sandjon, born in Berlin, gained nationwide attention with her coming-of-age novel "The Sun So Radiant and Black". This book was also recognised by the Landshut Youth Reading Club, which was involved in the decision for the German Youth Literature Prize for the novel.
The project is carried out in cooperation with the neighbourhood centre DOM and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research within the framework of "Cultural Education is Strong" as well as the Federal Association for Cultural Children and Youth Education. The event is also part of the project "KulturLabs on KulturMaps. On the move in the Los Angeles region".
Admission for adults is three euros, while children and young people have free admission. The event is expected to last about one and a half hours. Don't miss this opportunity to meet Chantal-Fleur Sandjon and immerse yourself in the world of "City of Trees".
