Exploring the remarkable Galeon 560 Fly: Could this flybridge yacht be the definitive coolest?

The Galeon 560 Fly, designed by Tony Castro, is the latest addition to the Galeon Yachts fleet and the successor to the outgoing Galeon 550 Fly. This new motor yacht boasts several unique and innovative design elements that set it apart, combining versatility, luxury, and advanced technology.

Innovative Design Features

One of the standout features of the Galeon 560 Fly is its "Beach Mode," which transforms the cockpit with foldable aft balconies and sliding, openable windows, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living space ideal for entertaining and relaxation.

The spacious flybridge, equipped with premium amenities such as an icemaker, refrigerator, electric grill, aft sunbed, foldable table, and panoramic views, is optimized for outdoor leisure.

Power and Performance

Powering the Galeon 560 Fly are twin Volvo Penta D13 straight-shaft engines, each producing 900 hp. This powerful propulsion system, coupled with a Seakeeper 9 stabilizer and proportional bow and stern thrusters, provides smooth performance and dynamic positioning capabilities.

Interior Comfort and Accommodation

The Galeon 560 Fly's wide beam layout maximizes interior volume and comfort for extended cruising. The yacht offers elegant, air-conditioned interiors with upgraded finishes, LED lighting, and Roman blinds in cabins.

The accommodation includes a spacious saloon with a 50" electric sliding TV, plush seating, a well-equipped galley with high-end appliances including an oven, dishwasher, and large 165L refrigerator. The yacht can accommodate up to nine people, including VIP and twin cabins, plus crew quarters.

Lighting and Comfort

LED lighting across the cockpit, steps, and flybridge creates ambiance day and night, adding to the overall comfort and luxury of the Galeon 560 Fly.

Exceptional Natural Light Below Decks

The Galeon 560 Fly features a continuous run of glazing on the topsides from the transom to the bow, promising exceptional levels of natural light below decks. This design element, along with big hull windows and a skylight, makes the VIP cabin exceptionally bright.

Versatile Layout and Luxurious Finish

The Galeon 560 Fly is recognized for its versatile layout, luxurious finish, and intelligent integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, designed for superior comfort and performance.

Pricing and Specifications

UK prices start at £1.37m ex taxes, but expect a typical delivery to weigh in at around £2m, including VAT and a generous set of extras. Some of the big-ticket options include a Seakeeper 9 gyro-stabiliser, a wide range of exotic veneers and finishes inside, and metallic hull paint outside.

The Galeon 560 Fly has an LOA of 58ft 5in (17.82m), filling the slot between the 500 Fly and the bigger Galeon 640 Fly. The hull and superstructure of the yacht are resin infused GRP, while the flybridge and hardtop mouldings are made of carbon fibre to help keep the center of gravity low.

The cockpit of the Galeon 560 Fly has been significantly increased in size, providing ample space for relaxation and entertainment. The folding aft terraces have glass inserts allowing guests to view the water beneath them while sitting at the bar. The port side terrace turns into an attractive bar area, while the starboard side terrace has a sofa that can face into the saloon or out over the sea.

The VIP cabin is located at the front and has a conventional aft-facing bed with plenty of headroom and more space around the bed than normal due to the flared bow and high foredeck. The full beam owner's cabin is amidships with an ensuite by the cabin door, a forward-facing centerline bed, and flanking mini-sofa and vanity desk.

A generous crew cabin is tucked astern with discreet access through a door in the transom. The flybridge boasts two matching C-shaped dinettes that can be joined to create a large dining area spanning the entire width of the flybridge.

The Galeon Yachts team, led by Tony Castro, continues to innovate, adding real value to the way the boats are used, as stated by our website editor Hugo Andreae. The Galeon 560 Fly is an award-winning motor yacht that promises an unparalleled cruising experience.
