Hannover, Germany - The city is buzzing with excitement as the world's largest marksmen's festival kicks off, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors until July 13th. This year, the event features over 20 fairground rides, three festival tents, and about 50 shooting galleries and game booths.

Among the spectators, actress Maria Furtwängler, best known for her role as Kommissarin Charlotte Lindholm in the popular German crime drama series Tatort, was spotted watching the marksmen's parade during the breaks. Furtwängler joined the festival as part of a Tatort film team, although details about her character's involvement in the marksmen's club remain under wraps to avoid spoilers.

The procession, which took place in the city centre, was led by Lower Saxony's Minister President Olaf Lies (SPD) and Hannover's Mayor Belit Onay (Greens), accompanied by former Minister President Stephan Weil (SPD). The march included marksmen's clubs, music groups, fire departments, historic vehicles, and carriages, attracting tens of thousands of spectators.

The marksmen's festival has been a significant event in Hannover for over four centuries, and this year marks the 496th edition. In a unique twist, a fictional marksmen's club from the Tatort film team also participated in the march. Filming for the upcoming episode, titled "Marksmen's Festival," is taking place in Hannover and Hamburg until early August.

While specific details about the episode are scarce, it has been confirmed that Furtwängler will be featured in this episode. The new crime thriller is expected to air next year. In addition to the festival filming, scenes for the episode were also shot in a nearby parking garage.

Last year, approximately 650,000 people visited the festival in Hannover, and organisers estimate that this year's attendance will reach about 900,000 visitors. On Wednesday, many attractions will offer a discount of up to 50 percent, as in previous years.

For those eagerly awaiting updates on the Tatort episode, following official news outlets and social media channels is recommended. Local news sources in Hannover might also provide more specific information about the filming.

Maria Furtwängler, the actress known for her character Kommissarin Charlotte Lindholm in Tatort, expressed her interest in the city's lifestyle, particularly home-and-garden and entertainment, during her visit to the marksmen's festival in Hannover. Alongside watching the parade, she attended movie screenings and workshops in the home-and-garden and movies-and-tv tents for relaxation and learning new skills.
