Göttingen Unveils Rainbow Bus to Promote Diversity and Tolerance
Göttingen's Mayor Petra Broistedt and GöVB Managing Director Michael Neugebauer have unveiled a unique bus, adorned in rainbow colours. This initiative, supported by the city administration, aims to celebrate diversity and tolerance within the community.
The new rainbow bus, a symbol of inclusion, will traverse the city's streets daily, reaching thousands of passengers in the Göttingen bus network. This move aligns with the city's commitment to diversity, reflected in its administration's embrace of the 'Charta der Vielfalt' initiative.
Göttingen's Mayor Petra Broistedt and GöVB Managing Director Michael Neugebauer jointly presented the bus, demonstrating their support for the cause. The GöVB, with its 470 employees from over 20 nations, embodies this commitment to diversity in its workforce. The city administration, too, fosters inclusivity through digital platforms like Telegram and Notify, and a digital guide called Verwalti, keeping residents informed and connected.
The rainbow bus, a joint effort by the city of Göttingen and Göttinger Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH, serves as a powerful reminder of the city's dedication to promoting diversity and tolerance. This visible symbol of inclusion will continue to traverse the city, reaching thousands of people daily.
