Greifswald Celebrates Fair Trade Diversity in September

Greifswald, a Fair Trade Town since 2020, is hosting a series of events this September to celebrate and explore fair trade. The city is joining Germany in focusing on fair trade with the theme 'Fair trade - Experience diversity' from September 12th to 26th.

Kicking off the festivities is the 'Coffee walk: Walk and Talk: Tracing fair coffee' event on September 12th at 3:00 PM. Participants will explore fair coffee production and its impact on the climate, culminating in a tasting session.

The Fairtrade Town steering group, in collaboration with the Greifswald world shop, has organised three events highlighting fairness in various products. Alongside the coffee event, Greifswald will also host a 'Fair flowers - Standing up for human rights with flowers' exhibition at St. Spiritus from September 15th to October 13th. This exhibition shines a light on fair trade in the flower industry.

The month-long celebration concludes with a 'Fair breakfast in Greifswald Zoo' on September 27th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy fairly traded coffee, tea, juices, and spreads while supporting fair trade practices.

Greifswald's commitment to fair trade is evident in its events this September. From tracing fair coffee production to showcasing fair trade in flowers and breakfast items, the city invites residents and visitors alike to experience the diversity and importance of fair trade.
