Grocery store chain expanding business by establishing new branches in 5 states this month
Publix, the popular American supermarket chain, is making waves in September with several new store openings across multiple states.
On September 11, Publix will open its doors at 6900 Daniels Pkwy, Ste. 19, Fort Myers, Florida. This will be followed by another store opening in Greenville, South Carolina, on September 17 at 1311 Fork Shoals Rd.
In Kentucky, Publix is set to debut two stores this month. The first one will open on September 3 at 10005 Ballardsville Rd., Louisville, while the second one will follow on September 15 at 150 Flat Rock Rd., also in Louisville.
Publix is not the only supermarket chain expanding its footprint this month. The grocery chain will open two new locations on September 25, one in Braselton, Georgia, at 1060 Braselton Village Pkwy, and another in Coral Gables, Florida, at 1542 S Dixie Hwy.
In addition, Publix will open a store at 2435 S Hiawassee Rd., Orlando, Florida, also on September 25. The company will also debut a store in Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 20 at 7933 Providence Rd.
As of September 17, Publix has 1,418 locations across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Both the new stores in Georgia and South Carolina will feature pharmacy services.
Including these locations, Publix opened six stores across five states in September. The company also plans to open more stores in Florida and North Carolina in the coming days.
Meanwhile, other supermarket chains are also making moves. Wegmans opened three stores this year, with plans to launch three more in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Aldi, on the other hand, plans to open stores in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, and Pennsylvania.
Trader Joe's, another popular supermarket chain, has announced plans to open new stores in several states in 2025. Specifically, eight stores will open in California, Connecticut, Florida, New York, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington state.
With these new openings, it seems that the supermarket landscape is set for some exciting changes in the coming months.
