Guide for Adjusting/Modifying APN Settings on iPhone
In some cases, you may need to manually change the APN (Access Point Name) settings on your iOS device to ensure proper mobile data and MMS functionality. Here's a straightforward guide on how to do this.
First, open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. Next, navigate to Cellular (or Mobile Data, depending on your iOS version). From there, tap on Cellular Data Network (or Mobile Data Network).
In the APN settings screen, you'll find the APN field under the Cellular Data section. Enter the APN information provided by your carrier in this field. You may also need to fill in the MMS and Personal Hotspot fields if your carrier requires it.
Remember, it's important to leave the password and username fields blank during manual APN setup on iOS.
Once you've entered the APN details, exit the settings and toggle Airplane Mode ON and then OFF to refresh the cellular connection. This process should help you override the automatic carrier APN settings and manually specify the correct APN information.
However, it's advisable to contact your carrier to verify the APN settings before making any changes. It's also recommended not to change the APN setting unless recommended by your mobile device administrator or carrier.
In case you're unable to connect to WiFi to upgrade, you can change the APN manually on iOS, provided that your carrier allows it. For example, if you're using the TooSIM eSIM, you would put "esim.data" as both the Name and APN fields. For Nomad eSIM, enter "Nomad" for the name and use your specific eSIM provider’s APN from their instructions.
If you need to see the current APN settings on your iOS device, navigate to Settings, then Cellular or Mobile Data, followed by Cellular Data options or Mobile Data Options, and finally Cellular Network or Mobile Data Network.
Please note that incorrect APN settings may result in the loss of cellular data connectivity. So, always ensure you're entering the correct information.
