New Sustainable and Affordable Homes Now Available in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset

A new development of over 20 sustainable and affordable homes has been completed in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset. The development, located off Purbeck Road, was a collaborative effort between Stonewater and developer Drew Smith, part of Vistry Partnerships.

Residents are now moving into the new development, which includes one and two-bedroom apartments, two, three, and four-bedroom houses for social rent, and nine two and three-bedroom houses for shared ownership. The homes were built on Wessex Water's unused land.

Matt Crucefix, director of Development (South and West) at Stonewater, expressed pleasure in providing affordable rural housing sites like these, collaborating with Dorset Council and partner Drew Smith. "Projects like Purbeck Road demonstrate how organizations can work in partnership to provide high-quality, affordable, and environmentally conscious developments while supporting local communities," he said.

The homes are energy-efficient, with features designed to bring down bills and reduce carbon emissions. They will benefit from low-carbon heating in the form of air-source heat pumps, and provision for electric car charging is available for the homes.

Stonewater, an organization that recently received a gold accreditation for major environmental improvements, is celebrating the completion of the development. The organization manages over 2,000 homes across Dorset, Bournemouth, and Poole, and understands the need for affordable housing in villages like Lytchett Matravers.

The development was supported by Dorset Council and funding from Homes England, as part of Stonewater's strategic partnership with Guinness. The completion of the development was announced during the National Housing Federation's Rural Housing Week and Net-Zero week, which took place from 3 July to 7 July.

The new homes are being celebrated as a vital addition to the area, providing affordable housing for individuals and families priced out of rural areas and villages. The Purbeck Road development is just one of over 20 new sustainable and affordable housing projects in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset, constructed by Stonewater and United Living, the organization that collaborated with Drew Smith from Vistry Partnerships for the development.
