Implementing Innovative Concepts at Louisengrün's Premises
=========================================================
A new initiative, "Build Your Thing," has transformed a former car-sharing site in Louisenstraße into a vibrant hub of interactive public spaces, funded by the Office for Urban Greenery and Waste Management and Gruber's Welt. The project, which was implemented during the summer holidays, will be available until early October.
The project area, located in front of the playground, includes four new hangout spots: a spray pool, parklet-style seating with greenery, hammocks, and a water-mud playground. The water-mud sandpit, in particular, was a hit among the youngest children at the opening.
The "Build Your Thing" project was a collaborative effort involving children and teenagers, local youth, artists, and community organizations. The Stadtteilbüro Neustadt and Jugendclub Werk 2 spearheaded the project, working closely with the Office for Urban Planning and Mobility, Abenteuer Spielplatz Panama, Verkehrswende project, Kinder- und Jugendhaus Louise, Schulsozialarbeit of the Louisenschule, the Office for Urban Greenery and Waste Management, and Gruber's Welt.
The interactive test space, one of the four new hangout spots, will be displayed from August 1st to October 1st. This space, created as part of the project, offers an additional interactive feature for young people to enjoy.
While the spray pool is currently waiting for suitable weather, the other hangout spots are open and ready for use. The parklet-style seating areas, adorned with greenery, provide a comfortable spot to relax, while the hammocks offer a unique and relaxing experience.
The "Build Your Thing" project aims to engage young people in the area, encouraging them to interact with and contribute to their local public spaces. With these new hangout spots, Louisenstraße now offers a more inviting and engaging environment for young people to enjoy.
Under the "Build Your Thing" project, the water-mud playground serves as an outdoor-living space for children. The newly developed interactive test space, catering to the lifestyle preferences of young people, is open until early October.
