Joining the yearly performance of the City Carilloneurs at the Red Tower
Get ready for an unforgettable musical experience in Halle (Saale)! On Sunday, September 21, at 4 pm, the Market Square will come alive with the 2025 Annual Concert. This event, which is part of the WIR-Festival, aims to promote unity and cultural exchange.
The concert will feature the city carillonneurs Davit Drambyan, Maik Gruchenberg, Philipp Steinau, and Nico Ahnert, who will perform a captivating repertoire. If you're curious about their talent, you can catch a glimpse of their performance at Europe's largest carillon in the Red Tower. Visitors can watch the musicians in the playing booth of the Red Tower on an LED wall.
For those interested in learning more about the concert and the City Museum, the museum's website provides further information. If you'd like to delve deeper into the world of bells, a guided tour of the bells, including a live carillon performance, will be available before the concert for a fee of 10 Euros.
Admission to the concert is free, and the Market Square will be seated to accommodate the audience. A special guest will be attending the concert as well - Dr. Judith Marquardt, the Deputy Mayor for Culture and Sports, will be present. The concert will also feature musical greetings from partner cities, adding an international flavour to the event.
This isn't the first time the city carillonneurs have performed on the marketplace. Their last concert took place on March 23, 2025, at 16:00, where they played at Europe's largest carillon in the Red Tower.
So, mark your calendars and join us on September 21 for a musical celebration that promises to bring people together and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Halle (Saale)!
