Kentucky Arts Council invites visual and craft artists to submit applications for the Kentucky Crafted marketing program
Kentucky Arts Council Announces Application for Kentucky Crafted Program
The Kentucky Arts Council is currently accepting applications for the Kentucky Crafted Program, a marketing initiative designed to support professional visual and craft artists based in Kentucky.
To be eligible for the program, artists must undergo a jurying process, where their work is reviewed and approved through a selection process. This process ensures that only the most talented and original artists are accepted into the program.
Visual and craft artists working in any medium, who are full-time residents of Kentucky and age 18 or older, are encouraged to apply. Prospective applicants should have a well-developed body of original work and experience marketing their art.
For those who are accepted into the program, the benefits are numerous. Artists become eligible to participate in the Kentucky Crafted Market and other sponsored events, providing them with opportunities to showcase their work to a wider audience.
Additionally, accepted artists gain access to marketing and promotional opportunities managed by the Kentucky Arts Council. This includes referrals to wholesale buyers, galleries, and media contacts, as well as inclusion in the Kentucky Crafted Directory, an online platform that showcases adjudicated artists.
The program also offers opportunities for arts business training to help artists develop and grow their craft businesses. This training covers a range of topics, including marketing, sales, and business management.
The Kentucky Crafted Program is designed to provide support through marketing, promotion, and education for Kentucky artists, helping them reach broader audiences and enhance their professional skills.
An upcoming virtual Q&A session with arts council staff is available for prospective applicants who want to learn more about the program and the application process. The application window is open now through Aug. 16, at 11:59 p.m.
Interested artists can visit the Kentucky Crafted program page to apply or learn more. It is important for applicants to read the full application guidelines before submitting their application.
Accepted artists in the program receive statewide and national exposure, as well as access to professional development opportunities. The Kentucky Crafted Program is a valuable opportunity for Kentucky artists to elevate their careers and reach new heights in their craft.
