Lisbon's 9th International Orchid Exhibition: 90,000 Blooms & More
The Portuguese Orchid Association (APO) is hosting the 9th International Orchid Exhibition in Lisbon from November 28 to 30. Visitors can expect a stunning display of over 90,000 orchid varieties from across the globe, along with other exotic and rare plants. The event will run daily from 10 am to 7 pm at the Santa Clara Market.
The exhibition will showcase not only orchids but also bonsai, tillandsias, bromeliads, cacti, succulents, and other tropical plants. Attendees can purchase derived products like orchid liqueurs, chocolates, and jewelry. The APO will offer lectures on the cultivation and use of these plants.
Orchids will be judged by a panel of specialized judges using the international 'Ribbon Judging - Best In Show' model. However, specific details about the judges and the evaluation system remain unclear. Tickets are priced at 5 € per person, with free entry for APO members and children under 12.
