Unleashing the Way Russians Enjoy Their Free Time: A New Era of Leisure

It's a high-five for Russia, mate, as a whopping seven outta ten Russians are content with their free-time shenanigans. That's according to the latest research from the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VCIOM). Some 1,600 Russians aged 18 and up, hailing from various corners of the land, participated in the survey.

On top of that, a record-breaking four out of ten participants claimed they've got plenty of free time on their hands. Conversely, six outta ten admitted they ain't got time for that. The findings reveal that young folks and working stiffs are more likely to struggle with time management, while the old guards are cruisin' with time to spare.

On that note, nearly half (53%) of the Russians polled stated they're chillin' with both the time and their leisure situation, while 16% have the time but ain't quite feeling it. Twelve percent, however, don't have the time but are rollin' with the punches.

Subscribe Over the past 15 years, Russians have transformed their leisure time game, thanks to economic shifts, technological advancements, and cool cultural trends. Y'know, like in 2010, seven outta ten stuck to their couches, but nowadays, more than half are venturing out and about. There's also been a noticeable uptick in museum, theater, and exhibition attendance.

"The way Russians spend their downtime has evolved in terms of both quantity and quality over the years," shared VCIOM expert Anna Zhirikova. "Almost four outta ten are finally rockin' the free-time life, a record high figure. That said, most still find themselves short on time, particularly the middle-aged crew. As for leisure vibes, satisfaction's on the rise—especially for those who partake in cultural and social activities."
