Market Vendors in Dusseldorf Enthusiastically Acclaim Their New Celery Monarch
On the 7th of July, the Crazy Market Women's club in Düsseldorf elected a new board, with Yvonne Jansen as the president. One of the first tasks on her agenda was to select the Sellerieprinz, a prestigious position within their club. After a series of deliberations, they chose Florian Rungenhagen for the role.
Yvonne warmly welcomed Florian, as seen in a touching photograph by Karina Hermsen. The Crazy Market Women’s club, founded in 1949, is unique in Düsseldorf, as it's the only one that has the right to choose its own prince, alongside the city’s carnival prince.
Interestingly, Florian has been involved in the winter carnival tradition since 2019. He's a member of several clubs, including the GKG Düsseldorf Uzbrüder, the KG Närrische Schmetterlinge, the KG Regenbogen, the Düsseldorf Narrenzunft, and he was even an honorary senator with the Rot-Weißen Husaren. Prior to this, he was an honorary senator with the Weinberger Funken in the Wuppertal carnival.
Kurt Fenn was instrumental in introducing Florian to the benefits of the Düsseldorf carnival, and to his surprise, he never imagined he’d become a prince someday. The celebration took place at the Frankenheim brewery on Wielandstraße in a summery atmosphere.
Though Florian hasn't given much thought to his attire for the role, the women of the club are confident that he'll look impressive in stockings. It's unknown at this point what specific plans he has for his time as Sellerieprinz.

Florian, with his extensive involvement in various clubs and carnival traditions, brings a unique perspective that could refresh and elevate the club's prestigious position.
