Martha Stewart-branded retail stores commence operations for the first time, initiating in Dubai.
In an exciting development for the home goods and lifestyle industry, Martha Stewart's retail stores are set to make their debut in India, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia starting from 2026. This expansion follows the successful launch of multiple stand-alone Martha Stewart stores in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which began in May 2022.
The first Martha Stewart stores in Dubai can be found at popular shopping destinations such as City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Hills Mall, and Mall of the Emirates. The brand's expansion beyond the UAE is anticipated for next year, with the exact timing within 2026 yet to be specified.
Marquee Brands, the owners of the Martha Stewart brand, and Apparel Group, a Dubai-based retail conglomerate, are jointly managing this expansion across the Middle East and Indian markets. This partnership marks a significant step for both companies, with Heath Golden, CEO of Marquee Brands, describing the opening of the Martha Stewart stores as a major milestone.
Marquee Brands manages a diverse portfolio of recognised retailers, including BCBGMaxAzria, A Pea in the Pod, Ben Sherman, and Laura Ashley, which it acquired at the start of this year. The company also partnered with Apparel Group to open the first Sur La Table store in Dubai. In 2020, Marquee Brands, in a joint venture with CSC Generation, bought Sur La Table out of bankruptcy for around $89 million.
The Martha Stewart retail stores offer a variety of products across categories such as kitchenware, bedding, bath, home fragrance, and entertaining. The flagship stores are designed to reflect Martha Stewart's signature style and attention to detail, providing an immersive shopping experience.
Two more Martha Stewart stores have already opened in Dubai, one at Dubai Hills Mall, and another is planned for summer 2023. The expansion into India, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia will mark the brand’s first physical stores in these regions.
It's worth noting that while the Martha Stewart stores are not yet available in the United States, this international expansion focuses on providing the brand's products and unique shopping experience to a wider global audience. The exact details of the expansion in these three countries are yet to be announced, but it's an exciting prospect for fans of Martha Stewart's lifestyle brand.
