Nine-day festivities mark Paderborn's Libor celebrations

The Paderborn Libori Festival, a vibrant week-long event, is set to take place from July 26 to August 3, 2025. This annual celebration offers a unique blend of tradition, entertainment, and community engagement, attracting both locals and visitors alike.

## Schedule and Highlights

The festival commences with an opening ceremony at 10:00 AM in the city center on July 26. The festivities will continue until August 3, filled with historical and religious elements, city-wide fairs, musical performances, and various cultural activities.

## Key Venues

The Container, known for evening events like the Libori Warm-Up, is one of the key venues. Kardinal-Degenhardt-Platz hosts live music performances, while the Mehrgenerationenhaus "AWO Leo" features local bands and community events. The Auld Triangle and Franz Club offer karaoke and disco nights.

## Highlights

A variety of traditional German food and beverages, as well as international specialties, are available throughout the festival. Family-friendly activities, including fun rides and games, are plentiful. Cultural events, such as the 2nd BAKSU K-Cover Contest and public tours of Paderborn's landmarks, enrich the experience.

## Main Events

The festival traditionally begins with the elevation of the Golden Shrine and salutes fired in front of the town hall. Concerts are held on the Kulturbrunnen stage, and the grand Sparkassen-Musik-Feuerwerk (fireworks) concludes the Libori Festival on the evening of Sunday, August 3.

Visitors can enjoy a 1.6-kilometer-long fairground on the Liboriberg, featuring attractions like the "Europa-Rad", "Excalibur", and "Mama Caramba". The Pottmarkt offers over 140 stalls selling pottery, knives, household items, clothing, and food. Headphone parties take place at the Platz der kleinen Künste.

Classic rides such as the music express, bumper cars, and children's carousels are also available. The Sunday shopping hours in the city center during the Libori Festival are from 1 PM to 6 PM.

The best viewing points for the fireworks can be found at [www.libori.de/feuerwerk](http://www.libori.de/feuerwerk). Radio Hochstift provides the music for the fireworks. Mayor Michael Dreier will make the last Fassbieranstich (tapping of the keg) in the festival tent "Paderborner Almhütte".
