Opening night performance of the new theater season at the Heinz-Hilpert Theater
On September 2, 2025, the Cultural Office of Lünen, in collaboration with the Theater Lünen Support Association, the Senior Advisory Boards of Lünen and Selm, launched an exciting new initiative called "Theater Meetup". This unique event will take place at the Heinz Hilpert Theater in Lünen.
The first "Theater Meetup" will occur on Sunday, September 21, at 3:30 PM, before the premiere of "Black Comedy - Comedy in the Dark". This situational comedy, directed by an as-yet-unannounced director, promises chaos, shameless surprises, and plenty of laughter.
The main character, Brindsley, is a young artist who is struggling financially and is awaiting a visit from a wealthy Russian art collector. In a bid to impress, Brindsley borrows furniture from his neighbour, Harold, without his knowledge.
The "Theater Meetup" will offer attendees a cozy exchange over coffee and cake in the Lünen Hansesaal. Participating artists may be present to introduce themselves and answer questions about the play. Representatives of the Senior Advisory Board and the Cultural Office will be on hand to provide information about the schedule and the respective performance.

Individual ticket prices for "Black Comedy - Comedy in the Dark" range from 15 to 26 €, with reduced prices available for 7.50 to 13 €.
Registrations for the "Theater Meetup" can be made by phone or at the Cultural Office of Lünen. The box office opens one hour before the start of the event.
During the visit, a power outage causes chaos and the unexpected arrival of various characters, including Brindsley's ex-girlfriend, neighbour, technician, Carol's father, and the art collector himself.
