Veteran Author and Harz Region Storyteller Makes Unforgettable Encounter

In a notable incident, Kiehne had an extraordinary encounter during a hike that left a lasting impression. On Tuesday, March 4th, while leading a hike alongside the Paracelsus-Harzklinik in Bad Suderode, he encountered an elderly, cheerful man in an electric wheelchair at the clinic entrance.
This elderly man, known as Günther, was a frequent sight for Kiehne, often listening to the first stories before waving goodbye to the group. However, on this occasion, Günther decided to join the hike. Despite initial doubts about the hike's duration and the wheelchair's suitability, Günther affirmed his eagerness to participate.
As the group began their three-hour trek, Kiehne noted Günther'slimited wheelchair skills, as he often slipped or tilted. But, Kiehne's concerns were alleviated as he was able to intervene in time, and the group managed to push Günther up the steep, challenging sections of the trail.
Despite encountering some difficulty, Günther's persistence paid off. The group successfully navigated the trail, and when they reached the end, Günther was overjoyed, according to Kiehne's Facebook post. For both Kiehne and Günther, this trek was a memorable experience, standing out among the numerous tours Kiehne has led over the past 14 years.

This encounter transformed into an unforgettable adventure when Günther decided to join Kiehne's hike, despite his limitations, proving that sports, in this case, overcoming challenges while navigating the trail, and sports-betting on one's own ability, couldn't be more intertwined with lifestyle choices.
