Preparations are underway for the Christmas season as new helpers gear up to assemble gift packages for impoverished children in Romania.
Neuss residents are invited to attend the conclusion event of the annual Christmas Gift Package Action, which aims to help children, especially in rural areas of Romania where the need remains great. The event will take place on Saturday, November 18th, starting at 11 am, at the youth facility "Greyhound - Pier 1" (Batteriestraße 1).
Organised by Stefan Hüttermann and his team, the conclusion event will feature cake, a snack, and a raffle to help cover a part of the transport costs for the Christmas gift packages. All are welcome to attend and show their support for this worthy cause.
The Christmas Gift Package Action was initiated 30 years ago by Wolfgang Kriesemann and is now continued by Stefan Hüttermann and his team. To participate, individuals are asked to fill a well-filled shoebox with items such as a chocolate bar, cookies, sweets, art supplies, school supplies, a thoughtfully chosen small toy, and clothing items like a hat, scarf, and gloves. The package should be wrapped in Christmas paper and labelled with the age and gender of the child to be gifted (e.g., "B 8-10" or "G 4-6").
Donations can be made to a specific donation account to ensure the packages reach the west of Romania. The donation account information can be found at www.romanian-aid.org. Additionally, the Christmas Gift Package Action's details and further information about the aid organization can be found on Facebook ("We help children in Romania").
From now until the end of November, the aid organization will only accept Christmas Gift Packages. These can be handed in at various locations around Neuss until Thursday, November 16th. For accurate and current details, it is recommended to check the official website or social media channels of Romanian Aid organisations in Germany or Neuss, or contact them directly for verified information.
Participants of the event can explore the intersection of lifestyle and sports as Stefan Hüttermann's team plans to incorporate a mini soccer tournament into the Christmas Gift Package Action conclusion. During the break, attendees can engage in a home-and-garden themed silent auction, contributing funds towards the initiative, showcasing their commitment to sustainable living.
