Proposal of a novel initiative by the Commission for implementation
The City Council of Giessen has announced an exciting opportunity for its citizens to get involved in a unique project. On July 3rd, 2025, the city will be collecting new motifs for traffic light figures at the Driver's Ring.
Citizens are encouraged to visit the citizen participation platform, giessen-direct.de, where an idea page has been set up for this purpose. Here, you can submit your proposals for new motifs, inspired by local nature, historical landmarks, and cultural symbols.
The magistrate will evaluate the submitted motifs, checking their feasibility and ensuring they meet certain criteria. Motifs resembling a person are usually allowed, as long as they are designed clearly and recognizably to all people.
The popularity of the submitted motifs will be considered based on the number of likes they receive on the platform. Interested parties can like or comment on the submitted ideas, fostering a sense of community and engagement.
Once the motifs have been selected, a concept for their implementation will be created. However, the specific pedestrian traffic lights where the selected motifs will be installed have not been specified at this time.
For any queries, you can contact the Citizen Participation Office, Local Agenda 21 and Climate Protection at buergerbeteiligung@giessen.de or phone 0641 306-2116.
The City of Giessen values active participation and interesting proposals, so don't miss this chance to make a lasting impact on your city. Submit your ideas before July 31, 2025, and help shape the future of traffic light designs in Giessen.
