Regensburg fundraising initiative led by Pindl raises over €15,000 for a children's facility

In the heart of Regensburg, over 500 young runners took part in the third charity run organised by PINDL private gymnasium on the RT grounds. The event, held in two groups, was hosted by Armin Wolf, the organiser of the Regensburg Christmas Singing, and his running team was on-site to help with warm-up and along the route.

The official starting shot was given by Dr. Astrid Freudenstein, the social and sports mayor of the city of Regensburg. The impressive sum of €15,122 was announced during the donation handover, a significant contribution towards supporting the St. Martin Children's Centre.

Astrid Lamby, the director of the St. Martin Children's Centre, expressed her deep impression by the amount of the donation. The centre, supported by the Catholic Youth Welfare of the Diocese of Regensburg, will benefit directly from this generous donation.

The donation handover took place on July 29 during the PINDL gymnasium summer festival, with Detlef Ammon, the managing director of Pindl GmbH, principal Bernd Ackermann, and the chairman of the parents' council Dr. Konrad Brenninger present.

Several notable figures from local sports teams, including Aleandro Angaran from the Regensburg Ice Bears, Jason Taylor from Regensburg Phoenix, and Chikara Igami from the Guggenberger Legionaries, were among those motivating the young runners.

The funds were raised through sponsorships, with each lap completed during the run earning a fixed amount of money. Many teachers and the sports department actively contributed to the planning and execution of the charity run.

While the main sponsors and the specific methods by which money was raised cannot be determined from the available data, the impact of this charitable event on the St. Martin Children's Centre is undeniable. The donation will make a significant difference in the lives of the children the centre serves.
