Fishing is more than just a game of patience; it's a tranquil getaway, perfect for bonding with loved ones and escaping the daily grind. Amidst the soothing symphony of nature, worries seem to fade into oblivion. But remember, even on those laid-back catch-and-release days, fishing regulations still apply, especially in Saxony-Anhalt.

Before casting your line, double-check if your fishing license is still valid and whether you need a permit for the particular water body. Ignoring these rules is a big no-no in Saxony-Anhalt.

In the Börde district, around 6,127 fishing enthusiasts boast a legal license to wet their lines, with a whopping 1,603 lucky souls holding a lifetime license.

Every spring and autumn, the Börde district hosts fishing exams to ensure everyone abides by the rules. Before taking the plunge, you'll need to complete a 30-hour course. The exam is split into a written and oral section and covers fish biology, water management, equipment, and, of course, the law. The oral part focuses on fishing etiquette, gear handling, fish care, and - you guessed it - the law.

For kids aged 8 and up, there's a fun coarse fish or junior fishing exam offered by various fishing clubs in an interview format. check out fischerpruefung.sachsen-anhalt.de for exam dates and locations.

So far this year, 85 young anglers and 10 adults have snagged their junior or coarse fish certification from Börde district fishing clubs.

Don't forget, these are general guidelines for fishing in Germany. Always consult with local authorities or fishing clubs in Haldensleben for the most current and accurate regulations. Happy fishing, and tight lines! 🐟🎣
