The Neighborhood Booth, a community hub located on Münster Street in front of St. Joseph's Church, has secured funding for another three years. This local initiative, now known as "Budenfriends - Your Diversity. Your Power", has been operating for two years and will continue to serve the Nordstadt community for at least another three.

Run by Silvia Koslowski and her dedicated team, the Neighborhood Booth offers a variety of services to the community. It serves as a contact point for those seeking and offering help from the neighbourhood. Whether it's assistance with everyday problems, language support, or simply a place to get a coffee and chat, the Neighborhood Booth is there to help.

The extended Budenfriends program, funded by the NRW Welfare Foundation, will also provide employment opportunities. The funding includes a mini-position for a trained electrician, seven hours per week, and the hiring of three additional team members. A retiree might be interested in the electrician position, according to Silvia Koslowski.

The Neighborhood Booth is also a popular spot for those interested in learning German. Many volunteers and guests attend the café, held every Wednesday, to practice and learn the language. Silvia Koslowski invites women who want to volunteer but don't speak enough German yet to attend this café.

The Neighborhood Booth is also a point of referral for job centers, practices, and migration consulting offices. Those in need are often directed to the Booth for assistance with tasks such as buying a new washing machine, repairing a dripping water tap, or setting up the internet.

In addition to its regular services, the Neighborhood Booth plans to conduct seminars and workshops for volunteers to improve their skills and knowledge. Jürgen Grewe serves as the first point of contact at the Booth, making it a daily meeting point for many people in the community.

For those seeking more specific details about the Neighborhood Booth in Nordstadt, it is recommended to contact local community organizations or municipal authorities for further information. The project title, "Budenfriends - Your Diversity. Your Power", was approved by the Welfare Foundation NRW for the next three years, ensuring the continuation of this valuable community resource.

At St. Joseph's Church, where The Neighborhood Booth is located, a retiree might find an employment opportunity as a trained electrician, contributing to the home-and-garden maintenance of the Booth. The Budenfriends program, sustained by the NRW Welfare Foundation, also looks to incorporate a lifestyle aspect by offering weekly German language practice sessions at the Booth's café.
