In the heart of Sterkrade, the city of Oberhausen has recently unveiled a groundbreaking initiative – the Smart-House. This innovative project, a brainchild of the SPD faction, aims to empower seniors and people with disabilities to live independently for as long as possible.

The Smart-House, centrally located in Sterkrade, is the first of its kind in the city. It is designed to provide hands-on learning about technical and digital aids for daily life. The city and the care provider "Gute Hoffnung leben" have cooperated to secure the next five years for this project.

Stefan Welbers, the director of "Gute Hoffnung leben", will oversee the quarter office services for Sterkrade-Mitte in the Smart-House premises. The SPD politicians from the senior council and the AG 60 Plus of the SPD are committed to continuing their efforts in this regard.

Ercan Telli, social policy spokesperson of the SPD faction, has made a promise to not let up on this commitment. He stated that the great public interest indicates the correct placement of the Smart-House in the pedestrian zone. The city as a whole aims to support this goal for its senior and disabled population.

While there are no current plans for expanding Smart-House facilities beyond Sterkrade, the success of this initiative could lead to similar offers in other parts of Oberhausen, such as Alt-Oberhausen and Osterfeld. For precise information about such expansion plans, it may be best to consult local Oberhausen city planning resources or statements directly from Ercan Telli or related officials involved in Smart-House projects.

The Smart-House officially opened on a Friday, marking a significant step forward in Oberhausen's commitment to supporting its senior and disabled population. Hans-Günter Wrobel, the spokesperson of the SPD in the senior council, expressed his delight at the opening, emphasising the potential impact this project could have on the lives of many.

As the Smart-House settles into its new home in Sterkrade, the city and its residents look forward to the opportunities it will bring and the positive change it will undoubtedly bring to the community.
