Schoeneberg's 26th Pumpkin Festival Draws Massive Crowds with 10,000 Pumpkins

The 26th Pumpkin Festival, held on Akazien- and Belziger Streets in Schoeneberg, has drawn a massive crowd this year. Over 10,000 pumpkins in 20 different varieties are on display, with numerous caterers transforming them into a wide range of dishes.

The event, which usually takes place in Berlin, was notably absent from the capital this year. Instead, the main celebration for German Unity Day on October 3, 2025, was held in Saarbrücken. There, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron delivered speeches as the main speakers.

Back in Schoeneberg, the Pumpkin Festival is bustling with activity. Around 140 vendors from across Germany have set up shop, offering goods for daily use. The festival-goers can enjoy a variety of pumpkin-based dishes, from soups and macaroons to cakes, lasagnas, and quiches.

The 26th Pumpkin Festival in Schoeneberg has proven to be a hit, with a vast array of pumpkins and dishes on offer. Despite the change in location for German Unity Day celebrations, the spirit of unity and festivity remains strong in Schoeneberg.
