Indian activewear brand TechnoSport has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha, marking the beginning of a significant development in the state's industrial sector. The opening of TechnoSport's world-class industrial facility is scheduled for 2024.
The manufacturing facility, designed with plug-and-play infrastructure, will be situated within a world-class industrial estate. This setup is intended to support rapid operational scaling, paving the way for the brand's growth in the accelerating demand for high-performance, affordable activewear in both Indian and global markets.
The facility will operate on renewable energy sources, reflecting TechnoSport's commitment to sustainability. It will also incorporate reasonable semi-automation in its operations, ensuring efficiency and quality in garment production.
The collaboration with a local university will see the establishment of a training center that will offer technical education to workers. This initiative aims to empower workers with degrees, upskilling, and career mobility, creating employment opportunities for more than 1,000 workers initially, and over 20,000 direct jobs in the long run.
