Audemars Piguet Introduces New Royal Oak Models with Dark Blue Ceramic Cases

Audemars Piguet has unveiled a new collection of Royal Oak watches, featuring dark blue ceramic cases inspired by the night sky in Switzerland's Vallée de Joux. The collection includes three models, each showcasing a unique blend of technical mastery and bold aesthetics.

The star of the show is the Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph, available in a 43mm case with a stainless steel body and a dark blue ceramic bezel. Powered by the in-house Caliber 4404, this watch offers a 70-hour power reserve and features a regular tricompax configuration on its dial. The watch is completed with a dark blue calfskin leather strap.

Another model in the collection is the Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked, a skeleton dial version with a 41mm case. This watch boasts an in-house Caliber 3132 movement and a dark blue integrated ceramic bracelet, offering 45 hours of power.

The pièce de résistance of the collection is the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar with a 41mm case in blue ceramic, specifically referred to as model number 26579CS. This watch showcases the Caliber 7138 Perpetual Calendar movement and a striking blue "Nuit Nuage 50" ceramic case.

The Royal Oak trio, including the Royal Oak Offshore models, features a monochromatic look with white gold hands and markers on the dark blue ceramic cases. One of the Royal Oak Offshore models also comes with a 42mm case and a dark blue color extending to the chronograph pushers and crown.

Notably, the Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 color was originally created by adding pigment no.50 to a Zapon varnish and a splash of black to create a cloud effect. Audemars Piguet has now found a way to use this color to color the ceramic cases. The Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph also features a titanium chip inside the crown.

The new collection was debuted at a trade show in Geneva this week. While it does not appear to be mechanically innovative compared to earlier releases, it undeniably offers a fresh and striking aesthetic for the iconic Royal Oak collection.

The Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph has a water resistance of 100m and a case thickness of 14.4mm. The price range for the new Royal Oak "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" models is $42,900 for the 43mm chronograph and $101,100 for the Openworked model. The Offshore model can be sourced through authorized dealers or luxury watch resellers with special order, while the Perpetual Calendar 41mm blue ceramic model's pricing and availability should be confirmed directly with Audemars Piguet or authorized boutiques as it is a very recent release.

For those interested in acquiring these models, it is worth noting that another related model, the Royal Oak Offshore with a blue ceramic case and bracelet (Ref. 26238CD.OO.1300CD.01), is offered at $150,000. This watch is a new piece from 2025 and is currently not in stock, requiring special procurement. This watch includes original box and papers and is located in New York.

Audemars Piguet has released a new collection of watches for its 150th anniversary, including the Caliber 7138 Perpetual Calendar earlier this year. The new Royal Oak collection is a testament to the brand's continued commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.
