Three Young Poultry Enthusiasts Shine at Memmingen Shows
Three young poultry enthusiasts from Memmingen have demonstrated exceptional skills in breeding and handling birds at local shows. The Memminger Hühnerrassenzuchtverein, aiming to secure the future of poultry breeding, has been actively promoting youth involvement.
The young breeders, who have not been named, displayed extensive knowledge about breeding, showing, and animal appearance. They breed Zwerg-Cochin in various color varieties and Chabo in white with a black tail, both smooth-feathered and crested. Their close bonds with the animals were evident as they handled them confidently at the shows.
The club's youth promotion focuses on securing the future of poultry breeding. Animals are judged on their shape, color, and stance at the shows, where young breeders have the chance to win various prizes. The youngsters received tips on important breeding characteristics and animal selection for upcoming shows, including the autumn exhibitions in 2025, although dates for these events are yet to be confirmed.
The Memminger Hühnerrassenzuchtverein is nurturing the next generation of poultry breeders. With their passion, knowledge, and strong bonds with their animals, the three young breeders are well-positioned to continue the club's legacy and excel at future shows.
