Time Travel Experience at Bad Sassendorf's Oldtimer Festival - immerse in the past with all your senses engaged
The town of Bad Sassendorf is set to host the 25th ADAC Westfalen Oldtimer Festival on September 13th and 14th, 2025. This year's event, themed "Time Travel with All Senses," promises a unique blend of vintage vehicles, local gastronomy, and entertainment, transforming the Kurpark into a hub for classic car enthusiasts and the general public alike.
The festival kicks off at 10 am on the Kurpark promenade, with over 100 participating teams showcasing their historic vehicles, including classic cars and vintage tractors. The "Freunde alter Landmaschinen Altengeseke e. V." will present historic tractors and agricultural machinery at the Jahnplatz, offering a glimpse into the past of rural technology.
On Sunday, the 14th, the highlight of the event is the "Bad Sassendorf Classic," an international oldtimer and youngtimer car rally. This prestigious event, which has earned the FIVA quality label, starts and ends at the Kurpark promenade. Meanwhile, the "Classic in the Park" vintage car meeting takes place from midday, providing ample opportunities for visitors to admire a wide array of historic automobiles in a scenic setting.
Visitors can also indulge in a "culinary time travel" with traditional local foods and salty treats that complement the nostalgic atmosphere. A framework program with exhibitors and live music adds to the lively atmosphere in the town center, ensuring entertainment designed to engage all the senses.
The Westphalian Salt Worlds experience museum will provide insights into the region's salt history, while an "city bet" premiere is planned for the afternoon, ensuring excitement and entertainment. Registration is required for participation in the "Bad Sassendorf Classic" drive or the "Classic in the Park" meeting.
Given that the ADAC Bad Sassendorf Classic coincides with local elections on the same day, visitors are advised to arrange for mail-in voting in advance, so they can enjoy the event and still participate in the NRW-Kommunalwahl (North Rhine-Westphalia municipal election).
