Twenty-year-old community celebration - Anniversary party for children and young adults at Landwehrplatz
The St. Johann Children and Youth Festival, a cherished community event, is set to return for its 20th anniversary on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Landwehrplatz in Saarbrücken. This joyous occasion is a collaborative effort between various institutions and organisations, with the TV Körprich club taking the reins this year.
The festival, open to all families, promises a diverse stage programme catering to every age group. From live music performances to interactive activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Younger attendees can look forward to face painting, craft stations, and a mobile climbing wall, while older participants aged 12 and above can participate in a T-shirt design project at JUZ Försterstraße.
One of the festival's highlights is the Rockmobil, a former public bus, where children and young people can try out various musical instruments. This unique experience is a testament to the festival's focus on fun, community, and togetherness in the neighbourhood.
Raphael Foltin, spokesperson for the Caritasverband Saarbrücken, has praised the Children and Youth Festival as a significant event in the St. Johann neighbourhood. He emphasises the festival's strong solidarity and its emphasis on networking and voluntary commitment, making it a special occasion.
Admission to the festival is free, and food and drinks will be available at affordable prices throughout the event. The festival will run from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM. In case of bad weather, the event will move to the nearby JUZ Försterstraße.
The new location at Landwehrplatz is intended to attract more families, making the festival more accessible and welcoming to the community. The St. Johann Children and Youth Circle invites all interested children, young people, and their parents to join in the celebration.
As the festival marks its 20th anniversary, it continues to embody the spirit of community living in Saarbrücken, regardless of financial situation. It's a day to come together, have fun, and strengthen the bonds within the neighbourhood. So, mark your calendars and get ready to celebrate with your neighbours at the St. Johann Children and Youth Festival!
