Visual Exploration of Wiesbaden, 2025: Showcasing Imagery of the Year

The 13th edition of the Wiesbaden Photography Days (Wiesbadener Fototage) is set to return from August 23 to September 7, 2025, marking one of the oldest continuous photography festivals in Germany. This year's event promises a diverse and rich visual exploration, with 38 photo and video projects showcased across seven main exhibition venues in Wiesbaden.

Kicking off on August 23, the festival invites everyone interested in photography to attend the opening ceremony, which will take place at the Walkmühle Artists' Association at 7:00 PM. Many participating artists, including Verdiana Albano (Berlin/Frankfurt a. M.), Jürgen Altmann (Stuttgart), Eva Bachmann (London), Katerina Belkina (Werder), and several others, are expected to attend.

Throughout the festival, visitors can look forward to a variety of events, including guided tours, artist talks, films, a lecture, a panel discussion, and the highly anticipated Artist Dialogue Day. This day, taking place on August 24, will commence at the Kunstverein Bellevue-Saal and move across various exhibition locations, culminating at the Walkmühle Artists' Association.

The Artist Dialogue Day will offer opportunities to delve deeper into the art of light printing, taught by Aindreas Scholz from London, and the art of image staging, led by Jan Klose-Brüdern from Groß Wittensee. Additionally, the art of the photobook will be taught by Wolfgang Zurborn from Cologne, and the art of the photogram will also be featured, with Aindreas Scholz leading the workshop.

The theme of this year's festival is "Future? What Future?", with an exhibition on this theme at the Kunsthaus. The Jury Prize will be presented during the opening ceremony.

For those keen on learning more about the themes, featured artists, or special events within the 2025 program, official Wiesbaden cultural sites or the festival’s dedicated communications would be the best sources. The festival's emphasis on diversity, participation, and city culture hints at an inclusive and vibrant photographic showcase reflecting both local and international narratives.

Several workshops are planned for the last weekend of August (30 and 31), promising a hands-on experience for photography enthusiasts. The festival will take place every three years in the future, as agreed upon by Wiesbadener Fototage, Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie, and RAY Fotografieprojekte Frankfurt/RheinMain, proposed by Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain.

So, mark your calendars for August 23 and get ready to immerse yourself in a world of photography at the Wiesbaden Photography Days 2025.

As the Wiesbaden Photography Days approach in August 2025, visitors can expect a unique blend of home-and-garden lifestyle aesthetic, as shown in the art of light printing and image staging workshops, further enriching the festival's diverse and engaging program. Additionally, for those eager to learn about the event's themes, featured artists, or special events, official Wiesbaden cultural sites or the festival’s dedicated communications would be the best sources to delve deeper into this inclusive and vibrant photographic showcase.
