Water spectacle draws a crowd at the Salzgittersee during the weekend
Get ready for an action-packed weekend as the Salzgitter Lake Festival kicks off on August 22nd! Here's a rundown of the events happening throughout the festival.
Football enthusiasts are invited to participate in a tournament on August 23rd, starting at 10 AM. The venue for the tournament is the sports fields at the Salzgittersee, located on the island in the Salzgittersee – the Red Fields.
For music lovers, there's plenty to look forward to as well. The high-wire troupe "Geschwister Weisheit" will perform at the Salzgitter Lake in Lebenstedt from August 22 to 24 as part of the "Seesause" event. Some of their shows include "Anno dazumal", "Hochmastshow im Scheinwerferlicht", and "Hochseilshow with bicycles, unicycles, and pyramids" at various times across the three days.
On Saturday, August 23rd, from 5 PM to 11 PM, the "Salzig Bandcontest" will take place at the Reppnersche Bay. The cult band "Nullbock" will give a farewell concert at the Salzgitter Lake on August 22 as part of the "Seesause" event, with the concert taking place at the water ski facility in their "home port" at the Salzgitter Lake. The "Fantasie" band, known for promoting inclusion and bringing people with and without disabilities together, will perform at the Reppnersche Bay on Sunday, August 24th, at 2 PM.
If you're looking for a more relaxed activity, the Bürgerstiftung Salzgitter will host a city breakfast for a good cause at the Reppnersche Bay on Sunday, August 24th, at 11 AM. Tickets for the city breakfast will only be sold at the event on the day of the event.
For those who prefer a bit of physical activity, the 1st Salzgitter Lake Evening Run will take place on August 22 as part of the "Seesause" event, offering a choice between 5.4 km or 10.8 km runs around the Salzgitter Lake. The starting shot for the run will be fired at 9 pm, and registration is available online at www.abendlauf-salzgitter.de.
The action area "From Lonely to Together" will be dedicated to the 2024 benefit action "Hand in Hand for North Germany: From lonely to together!". Additionally, the Tee-Timers, Discgolf e.V. will offer a disc golf taster session on August 23rd, at the same time as the football tournament.
The performances will take place in the Reppnersche Bay, making for a picturesque backdrop to these exciting events. The "Geschwister Weisheit" high-wire ensemble is invited by Salzgitter's Mayor, Frank Klingebiel, to celebrate their 125th anniversary of their family business.
