Weekly Newborn Highlights from the Earth's Inhabitants: Our Tiny Miracles of the Week

Yashnaa Ranjith, the latest addition to Neuss, Germany, was born on March 30 at 3:08 PM at the St. Luke's Hospital in Neuss. The newborn, measuring 53 centimeters and weighing 3.282 kilograms, boasts a full head of dark hair. Her parents, Premiya and Vicknesh, recently relocated to Neuss-Selikum last year and carefully selected the hospital for the delivery.

Premiya, a Cologne-based practice manager, and Vicknesh, a mathematician employed by a reinsurance firm, tied the knot in a traditional ceremony two years ago and renewed their vows at the Neuss registry office in 2024. The couple chose Neuss, situated midway between Krefeld and Cologne, as the center of their family life. Their home in Selikum is in close proximity to a children's farm, where storks have recently constructed their nests.

Linda and Jörg Berghoff are now the proud parents of their second daughter, Johanna, who was born on April 1. The newborn weighed 2,960 grams and measured 49 centimeters. Johanna's delivery was attended by Thuy An Nguyen Trung, Linda's friend and midwife. Linda's two-year-old Paulina eagerly welcomed her little sister, with Linda expressing relief that Johanna remains calm amidst her lively sister's antics.

Interestingly, Linda and Jörg opted to remain unaware of the sex of their baby before the birth, describing the experience as a delightful surprise.

While recent data indicates a negative population growth rate and a birth rate of 8.6 per 1,000 population for Germany as a whole, this trend does not apply specifically to Neuss. No notable or newsworthy births in Neuss hospitals were reported in the current publicly accessible sources reviewed.

Yashnaa Ranjith, the 'Baby of the week' in Neuss, Germany, is making headlines. This new addition to the city's lifestyle is living in a home-and-garden setting that's close to a children's farm, where storks have recently constructed their nests.
